MONOLIT by Light Reft
A smart, modular MIDI computer built for live performance and smooth integration with any setup.
Monolit is not a controller you map once to forget.
It is a playable instrument - a physical interface that lets you shape sound through motion, record gestures as automation, and turn parameters into something alive.
Designed for those who don’t just adjust sound, but perform it.

MONOLIT UPDATE /// NOVEMBER 2025
In November we will take part in the "BEAT PARK" event at Record Bar JBC in the heart of Jimbocho, the district where our headquarters is now located. If you are in Tokyo, come see us on November 13 at 19:00. There will be a live Monolit demonstration, music, conversation, and a chance to experience the device in a real setup rather than only on video.
Now about the upcoming firmware v2.0. We are working on it day and night to release the update as soon as possible. The new version will include a full 8 track sequencer, a new approach to parameter modulation, and a performance mode that allows you to control multiple tracks from a single screen. The original Monolit interface will stay as it is, so existing users will not lose the workflow they already know.
Controllers are peripheral. Monolit changes the way sound is controlled. It does not simply send MIDI values, it turns movement into behavior, automation, depth, and living dynamics. This is the direction we are committed to developing further.

MONOLIT 1.3.0 UPDATE
WHATS NEW
New Update is Here — And It’s Packed!
We’ve been hard at work, and this release brings some of the most requested features, powerful new tools, and a smoother overall experience. Dive into the details below and see what’s new in your Monolit:
– Web-Editor (finally!)
You can now configure your device faster and more efficiently — the web configurator is available at monolit.jp
Now, you can:
-
instantly rename presets, sliders, and buttons,
-
link multiple slots and edit them simultaneously (e.g., adjust the same value across several sliders),
-
save and load presets between your computer and Monolit,
-
rearrange presets within the device’s memory.
– EXT CC Reimagined
Now you can map external MIDI controllers to Monolit’s parameters — and vice versa. Yes, Monolit sliders can now control other Monolit sliders. This opens up all-new workflows and the first steps toward real sequencing.
– Smarter Note Hold Mode
Note behavior has evolved: when using hold mode, you can now release notes manually using the button under each slider. More control, less guesswork.
– Toggle Mode for Buttons
Buttons now support toggle mode in note mode — tap once to send, tap again to release. Simple and satisfying.
– Advanced MIDI Output
Buttons can now set Program Change and BPM. Sliders can output Pitch Bend, Channel Pressure, and Poly Aftertouch. Your expression just leveled up.
– Bug Fixes & Improvements
We’ve added convenient naming options, streamlined the menu, and refined overall navigation for a smoother and more intuitive experience.
Explore, test, and let us know what you think. Your feedback helps us build the future of Monolit.
